Digital Caliper Hack on Youtube
While soldering a RJ-11 connector to get the data out I shorted the wires.
Surprisingly, some new letters appeared on the tiny screen.
I’ve uncovered some hidden functions!
Hou-Ray
Here’s the functions:
H – Hold
F – Fast Measurement (screen refresh at each change, way faster)
H M – Hold the further opened you get (could be useful for a momentum apparatus
Here’s a link if you want the exact same model:

Very cool hack! Looks like most of the juicy details are on the original post over at hackaday. Maybe you can cull the important data from the comments there and post them here?
I have several pairs of these same calipers, although I bought them from Harbor Frieght (if you are in the USA):

what info u think are missing?
Pinout, what pins shorted do what, and how do you know it’s in that mode… I kind of posted some of this below for my calipers.
I have the 8″ HARBOR FREIGHT CALIPERS, and from left to right looking at the display correctly, the pins are as follows:
1 – Battery +
2 – Mode
3 – Zero
4 – Battery -
Shorting 2 to 4 toggles the H and INC
Shorting 3 to 4 zeros the display
I didn’t go into verifying all of the extra MODES, just wanted to share my pinout info.
